WhatsApp has rolled out a new beta version that blocks people from taking chat screenshots but in a weird way.
Whatsapp will also soon get a Fingerprint Authentication feature for Android users.
If you enable the new Authentication feature for Android beta version 2.19.106, you will be barred from taking any screenshots. However, if this feature is disabled you still capture screenshots of the chats you have involved in.
This means that those who use fingerprint authentication to lock/unlock WhatsApp will not be able to capture the screenshots of chats. Biometric authentication is still not available for the Android WhatsApp users, including some public beta users. Nor there is any confirmation if this new update will hit along with biometric authentication.
WhatsApp on iPhones currently supports both Face ID and Touch ID recognition. But in iOS, there is no such thing which restricts users from capturing screenshots of chat windows on WhatsApp.
