Google announced new navigation system with most advanced visual guidance and Visual Positioning System in Google Maps. Aparna Chennapragada introduced new software treats at Google I/O today.
“Am I going the right direction?” we are all had been through this situation and delayed figuring out Maps Navigation before.
Visual navigation
Tap the button and point your camera where you need relevant info on the surroundings. You will see an overlay of Maps information and arrows pointing you in the direction you need to go.
This is a powerful addition to Google Maps and they use augmented reality to put an animated character on the phone’s screen to guide you to the destination.
Visual Positioning System – VPS
New Google maps integrated with Visual Positioning System (VPS) feature. To identify where you are with greater accuracy, VPS uses your phone’s camera and analyze your surroundings with Google’s extensive back-end data.
The new visual systems are made for people who live in densely populated urban areas with tall buildings and often complain of GPS drift.
