  • Thalassodromeus means “Seth’s sea-runner”. Seth is an Egyptian god of storms and chaos.
  • It was a powerful hunter of small animals on land. It used its speed and maybe a few fatal pecks with its spear-like beak to kill its prey.
  • It might have been an omnivore.

  • It was able to coexist with the other pterosaurs by its unique way of diet from them.

  • It was a large animal found in the Santana Formation of Brazil.
  • It is dated back to 108 million years, the Albian Stage of the early Cretaceous.
  • They were probably terrestrial carnivorous or omnivorous pterosaurs that flourished in Early Cretaceous Brazil.

 

6. Moganopterus

  • Moganopterus was one of the largest pterosaurs from China’s Yixian Formation.
  • It had the largest skull of any toothed pterosaur(up to 95cm long).
  • It had about 62 teeth in its long jaws. The jaws of this animal have been compared to the mythical swords Gan Jiang and Mo Ye.
  • It was a pterosaur of considerable size.
