This film takes us to another level of patriotism and also reminds us the miserable situation of people in India. An American NRI Mohan Bhargava played by Shahrukh Khan who works in NASA, coming back to India for an elderly women Kaveri amma who helped him grow up in his childhood.
The story is moving from the perspective of hero, towards the sympathetic and different conditions that he had to face in the small village of Kaveri amma’s home. Shahrukh plays a distinct character that so far different from his usual Bollywood style. Some scenes take us into much depth of patriotism and fully filled up with the magnificent background score of A.R.Rahman.
The film produced by Ashutosh Gowarikar Production Company and distributed by UTV motion pictures. This film got 2 National awards including cinematography and also 2 film-fare awards for best actor and best background score.
It’s a must-watch film for all Indians, I say. Another interesting fact about the film is that 7 scientists from NASA decided to come back to India leaving their job after watching the film. Swades is not colorful but it’s our true story.
