Finally! Summers are here. Climate and temperature change lead to a lot of changes in our lifestyle. From our kitchens to our wardrobes, everything will have a huge transformation. And a similar transformation occurs in our food and drinking routines in summers.

One important topic that pops up during summers is dehydration. Our body is made of 60% water and therefore it becomes essential to meet the daily water requirements of our body. Not just for satiating your thirst, water plays many other roles for us which includes – optimising the blood pressure, lubricating he joints, regulating the body temperature etc.

Healthy water intake is of prime importance especially in summers as the sun tends to suck out your energy.

Also, the brain is made up of 73% water and when it doesn’t get the appropriate amount, we face difficulty in thinking and other cognitive functions.

However, it is important to keep yourself hydrated.

Mentioned below are 8 methods to increase your water intake :-

1- First of all, drinking enough water is important.

It is commonly said that an adult needs to have at least 3-4 litres of water every day. It is required for the proper functioning of the body as well as it plays a role in keeping your skin healthy. Drinking plenty of water is one of the most basic yet important beauty tips which is given by many famous beauticians.

2- check on your daily water intak

Instead of Buying new Bisleri bottle every day, spend some amount to buy a nice water bottle having a capacity of at least 800 mL to 1L. This way, you can keep a check on your daily water intake.

3- flavoured water

Many people do not prefer having a lot of water because of its monotonous taste. In that case, you can go for flavoured water. Flavoured water here, in any sense, does not mean carbonated water. You can have Rasna or Glucon D mixed water which is not only tasty but also healthy for the body.

4- Make a habit of drinking atleast 2 glasses of water before you eat.

This will regulate the food amount that you intake and also prevent excessive eating.

5- You can be attracted to soft drinks or mocktails available in the stores but then you should have the resistance to say no to them. Although, these drinks are tasty but water is still irreplaceable.

6- Make a watering schedule

As per the requirements of your age and weight, make a watering schedule. Make continuous efforts to meet the daily water requirement to stay healthy and hydrated.

7- Coconut is famous during summers mainly

because it’s very healthy and easily available. Normally coconut contains a lot for water in it. Not just coconut water but also the kernel is a good source to stay hydrated. Take out time to visit a coconut vendor everyday during your evening or morning walks and you will see good results in your health.
