1. Chaplin

Released In: 1992

Director: Richard Attenborough

Robert Downey Jr. is very well known to play his roles with utter perfection, and Chaplin is one such masterpiece which will prove it right. As the tittle suggests, this movie is a biography of Charlie Chaplin and it narrates his rise from rags to riches and about how he achieved his comedic fame, his turbulent personal life and his run-ins with the FBI. Robert Downey Jr. plays the role of Chaplin with utter accuracy.

2. Due Date

Released In: 2010

Director: Todd Phillips

Who doesn’t appreciate the comic skills of ‘Hangover Series’ famed comedian Zach Galifianakis? Well, everyone does. Due Date is one such movie which brought both Zach’s pun and Downey’s sarcasm in one single frame. The movie revolves about a busy father-to-be Peter Highman (played by Robert) who is forced to travel with Ethan Tremblay (played by Zach) who happens to be an aspiring actor on a road trip as Peter misses his flight. Watch the film to find out if the duo makes it on time for the birth of Peter’s baby.

3. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Released In: 2005

Director: Shane Black

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is one of the most amazing movies played by Robert Downey Jr. This movie is basically a kind of black comedy thriller. It revolves around a petty thief (played by Robert) who poses as an aspiring actor. He lands in Los Angeles for some movie audition where he bumps into his high school heart-throb ( Michelle Monaghan) and finds himself involved in the middle of a murder investigation along with his girl and a detective (played by Val Kilmer).

4. Less Than Zero
Released In: 1987

Director: Marek KanievskaB

Based on a similarly titled novel written by Bret Easton Ellis. The movie is about Clay (played by Andrew McCarthy) who comes back to his home in Los Angeles during his college vacations and witnesses some disturbing set of events. His former girlfriend Blair (played by Jami Gertz), who is also a burgeoning model had begun to abuse cocaine. But her addiction pales in comparison to the drug dependency of her new boyfriend, Julian (Robert Downey Jr.), who happens to be Clay’s childhood friend. Clay helps the duo to get over drugs, but the scenario is made more worse by Rip (played by James Spader), who is a dangerous drug dealer to whom Julian is indebted to. The movie is very close to Robert as he himself was a victim of drug abuse.
