Prakash Raj, a famous multilingual actor, director and producer in the Tamil cinema is a well-known name. Born on 26th March 1965 in a Kannada family, the actor claims to be an atheist.
Not only in tamil cinema, Prakash Raj have acted in a number of Bollywood films and have spellbound the audience with his performances. He acted in well known bollywood movies.
Started as a theatre actor where he used to earn ₹300 a month to become a well-known actor, director and producer in Tamil and Hindi cinema, his story is something to get inspired from. Kannada is his mother tongue but he is well versed with other languages too like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Hindi and English.
He stepped into the Tamil cinema with his debut movie “Duet” which was released in the year 1994. Infact, just after 4 years to this, he won the National Film award for best supporting actor. Again in 2007, he won the National Film award for his role in Kachivaram.
He also won National Film award as a producer for the best feature film in Kannada named Putukka Highway.
The actor married actress Lalitha Kumari in 1994 and have got 3 children from her – Medhana, Pooja and Sidhu. However due to some reasons the couple called off their marriage in 2009 and parted ways. Later in the year 2010, he married to the choreographer, Pony Sharma and begot a son, Vedhanth.
Prakash Raj claims that he is an atheist. In the past years, he has been banned by the Telugu Film producers 6 times.
To this, Prakash Raj said,
“If people who work with me say that I play hide and seek, why do they repeat me? Why am I in Mahesh’s nine films out of his ten. Why don’t you judge me with my work? How I go about it is not important. I don’t go by the rules. I put my foot down, I don’t take mediocrity. There are certain locations where I can come only at 12 in the morning. I don’t go by the rules.”
