Pakistan have decided to show a gesture of humanity towards India. Recently, Pakistan have announced that they will be realising 360 Indian prisoners on “Humanitarian basis”.
According to the Foreign office spokesperson Mohammad Faisal, the prisoners will be released in 4 phases.
The first phase will be on 5th April wherein 100 prisoners will be released. Then further on 8th April’19, another 100 will be released which will be followed by the release of another 100 prisoners on 22nd April. Finally, in the last phase on 29th April , remaining 60 prisoners will be released.
Out of these 360 Indian prisoners, 355 are fishermen while the rest of them are civilians.
“It is hoped that India will respond positively to this decision by Pakistan,” Faisal told the media in Islamabad.
Fishermans are often caught by the Pakistani and Indian militants when they go for fishery to the Arabian sea. This happens because there is no clear demarcation of the maritime border in the Arabian sea. Due to the lack of technical facility in the boats of these fisherman , they are often caught by the militants. Also, due to long tedious bureaucratic procedures, they often end up being in the jail for months and in some cases, for years.
“Its deep concern over the long-pending release and repatriation of Indian civilian prisoners and fishermen with their boats held under Pakistan custody despite completion of sentence and nationality confirmation.” As reported by ANI.
This time Pakistan have decided that they will leave these Indian prisoners and will portrait a gesture of humanity and goodwill.
