Mozilla has introduced Firefox Send, a free file sharing portal where users can upload files to the on the portal and share the URL with whom they want to share the uploaded files.
Users can upload files with up to 1GB of size at once or create a free Mozilla account to upload up to a maximum of 2.5GB. Once the chosen files are uploaded, you can select as to how many times the uploaded files can be downloaded by a recipient (maximum of 100 times) before the given link expires. Also, you can choose a time frame (maximum of 7 days) prior to which the link will expire automatically. To keep your file more secure, you can add a password to the given link and share the password along with the link itself so only people with the link and the password have access to the uploaded files.
Firefox Send really helps if you want to quickly send files to someone but the size happens to cross the limit of what you can actually send over an email. It is also better than uploading files on a cloud storage service like Dropbox wherein the uploaded files permanently stay there permanently till you manually delete them. This portal also helps when you have some files which are not that very important enough to be stored permanently in your device or needs to be accessed by a bunch of others.
The service is free to use and can be accessed from send.firefox.com.
