Vincent Kompany is rejoining Anderlecht having left Manchester city after eleven years at the club.
The Belgian centre-back are going to be returning to his motherland to take up the role and kick start the subsequent part of his career.
Kompany, 33, was disclosed by Anderlecht on their Twitter page with a clip that includes the words: 'The prince is back', and 'he's returning home'.
In the second part of a letter to city fans explaining his departure, he made public the future.
For the following three years, i'll take up the role of Player-Manager of RSC Anderlecht. Belgium’s finest,' he wrote.
'This could come as a surprise to you. It’s the foremost passionate however rational call I’ve ever created.
'As a player, i was born and raised at RSC Anderlecht. Since the age of six, i've got been one therewith club. A history of thirty four league titles, they're second to none.
"This is not any goodbye. It’s a see you later. Et pour les Mauves, voor alle Anderlecht fans: tot binnenkort, a tres bientot. Love, Vincent."
Kompany compete his final game for city within the fa final win over Watford on saturday and therefore the shock announcement was made less than twenty four hours later.
