I saw her standing;
Face so pale and words far off
Looking at two brimming lights
But her mind was too dark to see beyond.
She took a step ahead
But soon jerked back,
Before she could take another
Her eyes spoke so lost.
Two great choices;
Her parent’s dream and hers
Too aware that only one of them can
Put the ice on her burned fingers.
I watched her keenly;
One simple question swirled around my head
Where will she pack her bags to?
The wind blew off the map in her hand.
Another step will make it clear
And I began to anticipate
But the alarm clock woke me up
Before i can see anything more.
Sooner or later I realized;
It was not just the girl
But me in place of her
Which made all the difference.
