Netflix has released a teaser trailer of its latest Indian original film Chopsticks. This teaser briefly introduces Mithila Palkar’s character ‘Nirma Shahastra Buddhe’, who is a “shy and under-confident” young woman tourist guide who’s new to Mumbai. The movie is directed by Sachin Yardi of the ‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum’ fame, Chopsticks is a story in which Nirma tries to fight and get back her stolen car from a goat-frenzy, Mumbai gangster.”.
The first scene of Chopsticks teaser trailer opens with Nirma (Palkar) giving a tour of the Dharavi slums to a group of Chinese tourists in Mandarin. In the next frame, Nirma buys a new car and is trying to build up her confidence by playing some repeat-after-me motivational tapes in her new car. Her life takes a bad turn after she’s fooled by a fake ‘valet parking attendant’ who steals her car.
In the next few successive quick cuts. You can catch Abhay Deol with a goat. Abhay Deol happens to team up with Nirma to get back her car. The teaser trailer ends on a humourous note where a cop who’s registering an FIR laughs at the name of Palkar’s character ‘Nirma’ as he realises that she shares her name with a popular washing detergent brand in India.
Chopsticks will be releasing by May 31 on Netflix, all around the world. The film also has Vijay Raaz and popular MTV India VJ Benafsha Soonawalla.
