Once Bank jobs were the most preferred job amongst the youth. Bank job had and to a certain extent, it still has a good social status. Moreover, Bank Jobs are more attractive since it offers a good salary, allowance, incentive, and so on, better than many other jobs in the country. The most interesting fact is that a bank job is the most preferable job even in the “Marriage Market” as well.
But it seems like this fascination to bank jobs have been declining in recent times. The young generation does not prefer Bank jobs not so much anymore. There are several reasons behind this. Nowadays the structure of banking has almost changed. There are heavy pressure and stress in the job. Previously the main function of the banks were to accept deposits and to lend money. But the situation has completely changed and the Banks are expanding their business and has moved to the sale of other products like insurance, mutual funds, etc. There is heavy pressure from the higher authority for the sale of these products.
Moreover, the government also implement its major programmes like Mudra Loan, Pradhan Manthri Insurance Schemes and other projects through Banks. So, there is high pressure from the side of the Government as well.
In the present banking, the customers are highly demanding to make pressure to the Bank employees. Nowadays, the banking is more transparent and any lapses or omissions on the part of the employee are viewed seriously by the Bank, RBI, and Government.
In the recent Survey conducted by Times of India, the suicide ratio among the bank Officers has increased manifold. The main reason for the same is heavy pressure and stress in the banking Jobs.
All these factors led the new generation from not preferring bank Jobs.
