Avengers: Endgame has reportedly grossed an estimated $26.7 million (about Rs. 187.14 crores) in India just three days after its release because of which makes it has become India’s second biggest opener just below Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in 2017. Endgame was released in India in four languages, namely Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu and the Hindi version has clinched the title as the biggest weekend opener than any other Bollywood film in history. Avengers: Endgame has actually dethroned last year’s biggest opener Sanju, even though it was released in less number of screens. Avengers: End game was released in around 2,845 screens when compared to ‘Sanju’ which was released in more than 4,000 screens. But still, Avengers last instalment has managed to mint more money as it had a significantly greater higher average theatre occupancy than that of Sanju.
The $26.7 million opening weekend for Avengers: Endgame is about 67 per cent more than its prequel, Avengers: Infinity War, which had raked about $18.19 million (Rs. 120.9 crores) in the first three days after its release. According to the data Disney India, Avengers: Endgame collection numbers presented by Disney India, Endgame has earned Rs. 63.21 crores (about $9 million) on Friday, Rs. 61.19 crores (about $8.76 million) on Saturday, and Rs. 62.74 crores (about $8.98 million) on Sunday totalling to Rs. 187.14 crores. Net box office collections, inclusive of entertainment tax, this Marvel movie is estimated to be Rs. 157.2 crores (about $22.5 million).
