Revolution of the smartphone made remarkable changes in our daily lifestyle. Via smartphone, we can connect anyone around the globe, purchase whatever we want, get updated about news feeds and so on.
Different platform-based smartphones are available in stores. Android users are larger than the other platforms like iOS, windows. Mostly we are not aware of the safety feature provided by developers.
We cannot say android based smartphones are really secure and without proper precautions all the data are unsafe. Here are my simple tips to keep you and your Android device safe and secure
1.Screen lock security
Setting a screen lock with a PIN, password or pattern will help to secure your device. The biometric lock system is so common today. Fingerprint detection, face detection, and eye scanner are the latest features available for phone security. With screen lock security nobody can access our data without our permission. So don’t forget to set screen lock for your device. To activate this feature, Android users tap Settings > security > screen lock.
2. Encrypt phone
This is for keeping your data safe. Most of the smartphones are encrypted by default. If the device not encrypted by default we can do it manually by selecting Settings > security >encrypt phone.
3. Download from trusted sources
The Internet is not immune to the virus. Optionally we download data from different sources. Authentication of download source is very important. Unidentified applications cause you trouble. Always prefer Google play for applications. In case you download from another source, Google play scans that application before and after installing it.
4. Remove Ads
Ads that open in new windows (“pop-ups”) or some banner ads could potentially affect your smartphones. Most ads are safe but sometimes we accidentally download an unwanted software and give someone accesses our personal data.
5. Anti-virus software
Usage of anti-virus applications is a better way to keep your phone safe. it also helps to clean junk files and save more storage. Avast Mobile Security & Antivirus and Norton Mobile Security are the best and common freeware anti-virus software.
Closing background applications also help to save data and battery life of the device. Hibernating applications help to stop background data usage. Heating of phones and battery backup issues are common today. Above tips will make your Android device safe and virus free.
